Never Walk Alone
24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
“Following Jesus isn’t a solo project, but instead, should be done in community with fellow believers. It’s crucial to have others in your life that can join you in prayer, and the pursuit of all things good. Following Jesus should be a shared experience.” This is a quote from Jarrid Wilsons book Wondrous Pursuit as passed on to me from my friend Todd Bowman.
It is a natural response when we feel insulted, hurt or rejected, to retreat and isolate ourselves. But as Christians we are encouraged to forgive, to grow and to continue the process of becoming like Christ. Lone Wolf Christianity has many pitfalls and snares that over time do damage to a mans faith that is not easily recovered. Spending some time alone to “get your mind right” or to “think things through” is perfectly natural and healthy. Even Jesus occasionally would walk off to be by himself and to talk to the Father. But, He always returned. Never Walk Alone.
